December 25, 2008 - FSEARA would like to extend a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanakuh and Happy Holidays to all of our racers and families. December 17, 2008 - We have expanded our onnline presence to Facebook, If you are a member, check out the FSEARA page by searching for the name. Also the next race is approaching soon, It will be the first race of 2009, but race 4 in the series. Remember that most ROAR memberships expire around this time, make sure you are up to date for the first race. Membership will be available for purchase at the race. We would also like to congratulate FSEARA racer David Larry for being the Region 4 ROAR Director. This is also a good time to check your ROAR memberships, you will be able to renew them at the first race of 2009. November 26, 2008 - The results and points standings have been updated after the third race. Taking wins at the third race were Austin Harrison in the Pro Modified class, Dave Bowser in the Expert 10.5 class , Michael Bruce took the Novak 17.5 Class honors, and Jim Sowa won the Masters 13.5 class. Congrats to all the winners for the race. Race 3 Info: MDI Racing & Village RC Raceway are once again PLEASED to be hosting Race 3 of the 2008/ 2009 FSEARA series. October 26, 2008 - Race 2 at Strickland RC Raceway in Daytona got off to a late start due to the wet weather, but the sun came out and we had a great weekend of racing. Taking the masters win for the second time was Jim Sowa. In the 10.5 expert class, Dave Bowser had the patience and took advantage of a late bobble to take the lead and win. The 17.5 class and the largest field of the weekend was won by Michael Bruce, Mike was able to hold off Dave Bowser who came in second. The modified class came down to the last race, and by taking the win in race 6, Dave Franklin took the overall win for the weekend. Finally in the World GT class, Mark Burt powered his car to a first place finish. The next race is at MDI on November 15th and 16th, We hope to see everyone there. October 6, 2008 - Pictures from the banquet have been added to the photo gallery. The Strickland crew has anounced that the World GT class will again be run at race 2. September 22, 2008 - The series opened with really great racing, some new racers and some from the past were all on hand for the weekend. Opening thing up Michael Bruce showed he was the car to beat in Pro Modified, Mike won 4 races to take the overall win in the Mod class. In the Novak 17.5 class, Dave Bowser started in the number 2 spot, but was able to take the lead on lap 2 when Michael Bruce went out on with car trouble, Dave never looked back and took the win handily. Taking the Masters class was past series veteran Jim Sowa, Jim raced several years in the past and it was great to see him back in the mix. The vintage class honors were taken by Dave Franklin and the World GT in its first organized race in some time was won by Mark Burt. Lastly is was Mark Burt making it a double win in taking the Expert 10.5 class edging out Dave Bowser and winning by .240 seconds. Congrats to all the winners this weekend and we look forward to seeing everyone at the next race in Daytona. All results and points have been uploaded. Septembe 19, 2008 - Superior Hobbies will be open for practice at noon on Friday for the state race. Also we would like to welcome Phils Hobbies as a sponsor of the concours class. Phil's is located in Pinellas Park and we thank them for their support. September 15, 2008 - It is less than a week until the first race of the 2008-2009 season. We have moved the banquet to the Smokey Bones bar and grill (flyer) located right at the track, the banquet will start at 7pm on Saturday. Also Superior Hobbies anounced that the World GT class will be run as a promoters class. I will get the rules for the class updated by tommorrow. Also the Suburban lodge will be the host hotel, you will need to mention superior hobbies to receive the discount. They are located at 210 N oxford Rd; Casselberry, FL 32707. 407-265-7699. September 3, 2008 - The most recent rule changes have been added back to the website. Click the rules link to review them. Some of the changes include: Weight Limit reduced to 51oz for touring car; There will be 4 qualifers and a Main; USVTA rules will be followed, however 17.5 brushless motors are the only legal motors. Please read the July 23rd update for the Sportsman 17.5 motor rules. August 22, 2008 - There are 28 days until the new 2009 race season. Race # 1 will be hosted by Superior Hobbies, Robby and Kenny and the crew on September 20, 2008. We are looking forward to this date. Our 2008 award night will take place after the qualifier on Saturday at the Orlando Roadhouse Comedy Grill, 1870 State Road 436, Winter Park, Florida 32792 (407) 679-2239, 1/2 mile east of Superior Hobbies at 7pm sharp. We have a banquet room available for us. July 23, 2008 - After much debate, FSEARA leadership has decided to recast the voted rule changes. There was some apparent confusion on what some of the rule changes were, so hopefully everything will be corrected. If you raced 4 out of 6 races, you are elegible for the revote. Instructions and the list can be viewed here. I have removed the rule book for now, and it will be reposted once the changes are finalized. One rule change that was clarified is the 17.5 motor option. The class will now allow for any brand 17.5 ROAR legal motor. The class will continue to be sponsored by Novak, and to be eligible for the Novak prize package, a Novak motor must be run. More details will be in the rule book. June 24, 2008 - Directors Message Welcome racers, families and guests to the Florida State Electric Auto Racing Association (FSEARA), the longest running radio control racing organization in the nation, celebrating its Twenty Ninth Years of, sportsmanship, leadership and excellence. We wouldn’t have made it this far without the support of all racers and their families and to those individuals like Rocky Hagan which we lost this past season who had the vision of this state series (FSEARA) being something great today. Thanks to the hobby shops, sponsors, promoters and to the many great drivers who have participated in our series back then and today. We will continue our leadership an excellence to this great organization for many years to come. Congratulations, to Felix Law the winner of Novak 13.5 and the Expert 10.5 brushless class. And special big thanks to Tim Potter for all the hard work, Tim put in to this series for the past 5years with me. Tim will continue to moderate and race next season. We have come to a new race season; I would like to welcome aboard Mr. Tony Munno as Vice Director and official tech director, Tim Caporal as Score Keeper, Dave Martin as Web Master and Tony Padilla as Reedy score keeper and photographer. We are committed to make your racing experience a memorable one. Our first race will be hosted by Superior Hobbies on September 20-21, 2008. We hope to see new racers and our old racers come out to support our series for the new season. We guarantee you wouldn’t regret being part of this racing family and the excitement this series bring. This season will have seven (7) races to the schedule; you need to complete five (5) races of the seven, for end of season award. Our tire of choice will be Jaco Blue’s, sponsor by Jack Rimer of JACO Tire Company. Two sets of tires limit for the week end, we will run four heads up qualifiers two on Saturday if more than seventy five entries and two on Sunday with the mains to follow. Pro Modified class will continue to run the reedy format; we will continue to host the nostalgia Trans Am class for the new season. Novice class, Novak 17.5 stock, Masters 13.5 and Expert 10.5 brushless will be hosted for 2009 season. Congrats to all the class winners. The Annual banquet will be held at the first race of the 2008-2009 Season. The Race is scheduled for September at Superior Hobbies. The final schedule will be released once it is finalized. The awards page, results, and points pages have all been updated.
